Be the Crazy Person Who Writes, Creates, and Contemplates
But Be Wary of Two Potential Traps
Dear Writers, Creators, and Deeply Reflective Wanderers:
Friends and family may find us odd. Puzzling over our need to creatively rehash the world in words and colors. Confused as to why we waste our time trying to say the unsayable and solve the unsolvable.
Let them wonder.
You write….for fun?
You make all of these creative things…just to express your feelings?
You actually like digging into emotional discomfort? Publicly too?
We sense the scorn cloaked in their questions. Weirdos. Malcontents. Fools. Of course it hurts. We want to be valued and supported by our loved ones. We wish they would be more curious and open about our ways. But we are tired of explaining what will always appear as gibberish to those unready to see, feel, and taste life beyond the surface.
This thing that we do, is more than just a hobby. It is the speaking of life through our cells. A deep inner song. Breath so fresh and full, that when denied, extinguishes our very soul.
